At the Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation, our mission is to decrease the number of preventable deaths caused by colon cancer through education and awareness initiatives, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and supporting colon cancer research. We reach the masses through our social media channels and a slew of fun events that are usually sneaker related. We have used our platform to encourage healthy diets and exercise, to raise awareness for the terrible disease and to bring a community of sneaker lovers together for a common cause outside of shoes.
Today, our friends in Houston need our help. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, people are unable to focus on anything unless their basic physiological and safety needs are met. We are asking you to help us do just that. The SHOU (Shoes for Houston) Drive is our way of joining in the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts by supplying people all over the city who have lost everything – including sneakers – with something that most take for granted in their everyday life. We’re on a mission to create the biggest sneaker drive ever. People are in need of an abundance of things, and the very least we can do is supply them with a decent pair to walk, run and/or go to work in. Sneakerheads, please join in with us, the Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation, Gus Leagues, Sneaker Summit, OSD Live and SOLEcial Studies, as we collect athletic shoes to donate to the survivors of Hurricane Harvey. The SHOU Drive jumpstarts its mission today, August 31st, and will culminate, simultaneously, at our Grown Up Games event in Houston on September 30th, 2017.
