If there is more than one way to skin a cat, then there has to be more than one way to clean your colon.
A healthy colon is essential for a healthy body, and if backed up with waste, it can cause a multitude of problems, including headaches, low energy, vomiting, weight gain and much and more. A clogged colon can also lead to numerous diseases, particularly colorectal cancer. So if you didn’t think your colon was that important before, we hope you do now.
Many people think that you have to take laxatives in order to clean your colon, but that’s not the case. Here are seven simple ways to cleanse your colon without the pain or embarrassment of taking laxatives.
1. DRINK WATER!
This is very simple but can help so much. Your colon needs water to keep the waste in it moving, so it doesn’t get stuck in the colon and build up as blockage. Depending on your size and how often you work out, your intake of water may need to be a lot more than others.
2. Dry Prunes and Prune juice
Now usually when we think of prunes or prune juice, we think of older people using them but it’s actually great for our bodies if we consume it a couple of times per week. Prunes help your body cleanse itself, regularly.
3. FIBER IS A MAJOR KEY!
Foods that are high in fiber, not only help fight colon cancer, but are very essential in preventing it as well. Avocados, berries, coconut, cooked potatoes, beans, and brussel sprouts are some of the many foods that contain high amounts of fiber.
4. Lemon Juice
Squeeze the juice from one lemon into a glass of lukewarm water, then add a pinch of sea salt and honey, and stir. Drink the solution on an empty stomach in the morning. If you can be consistent with this for a while, your system will start to cleanse itself and run smoother.
Ginger is great for reducing bloating while also stimulating the function of the colon to allow it to expel wastes and harmful toxins. Research has also found that this spice may be able to prevent colon cancer. Try adding a teaspoon of ginger juice to a little honey and water, stirring and consuming several times per day.
6. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is highly valued for its detoxifying powers and can even serve as a laxative, making it an effective tool for cleansing the colon. You can simply cut an aloe vera leaf vertically to squeeze out its gel, add to the juice of one lemon, stir, refrigerate for a couple of hours, and consume several times per day.
Yogurt is rich in beneficial probiotics as well as good bacteria that work to rid the body of harmful bacteria. It’s also a great source of calcium, which works to hinder the growth of cells lining the colon. Yogurt is also known for treating stomach issues, such as indigestion and irregular bowel movements. And it would never hurt to add some granola and/or fruit to your yogurt as well; you’ll get a great source of vitamins and be cleaning your colon as well.
